Strength training can make a huge difference in th Strength training can make a huge difference in the way we train.

I’ve seen it first with my own running. When I started lifting weights consistently I noticed that my run paces improved and I recovered quicker than I used to.

I love that my client is seeing the same results in her own running! Be consistent with your strength training and see what happens!

The way we speak to ourselves is so important. Having a positive mindset makes a huge impact on ourselves and those around us.

Be kind to yourself. Believe in yourself. Watch how your behaviors will change. See what you can accomplish.

Fitness, nutrition, and sleep… In order to see/ Fitness, nutrition, and sleep…

In order to see/feel real changes in your body, you need to work on all three.

Fuel your body properly before and after your workouts. You can’t out train a poor diet. Focus on eating protein at each meal and adding in 3-4 servings of fruits and vegetables. Also, don’t forget water! Work on drinking half your body weight in ounces of water.

Sleep allows your body to recover and heal, so you’re ready for your next workout. Work on having a wind down routine. Turn off your devices. Read a book. Try to start the bedtime process earlier.

What differences do you notice when you align your fitness, nutrition, and sleep?

Many resolutions fail because people start with un Many resolutions fail because people start with unrealistic goals based on their current lifestyle.

Are you really going to suddenly start working out for an hour a day/7 days a week or cut out an entire food group just because it’s a new year?

Maybe you stick with it for a week, but pretty soon you realize it’s too much work and you’re back to ground zero.

Start small. Set realistic resolutions.

Set a goal that almost seems too easy…go for a 10 minute walk every day…add in 2 servings of fruits and vegetables a day…drink a large glass of water at every meal.

Work on creating small healthy habits that become part of your lifestyle, then go from there…

Tips for staying fit during the holidays… 1. Ge Tips for staying fit during the holidays…

1. Get your family and friends involved. Plan a walk or run with your friends and family. This is a great way to catch up and get a workout in.

2. Workout first thing in the morning. It’s easy to let the day get away from us. Get that workout in before the craziness starts.

3. Plan ahead. Figure out your workouts ahead of time. Schedule to run or take a fitness class with a friend. If you’re traveling, look at a map to see where to run. Or look up local fitness studios in the area.

4. Everything in moderation. Eat the cookie, just not the entire plate of cookies.

5. Go for a quick walk after a meal. This is a great way to get your steps in. Try to bring a family member with you!
